Dust off your jump shot, find a formidable opponent, and head down to Basketball Challenge Night! Around the World, Money Ball, a Free Throw Contest and the Main Event - where community leaders challenge each other - will all help raise money for the United Way of Reno County. Join us at the HRHS Pavilion from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2.
This will be a fun evening and a great way to the United Way's work in our community. We'd love to see you there!
What is this event?
This event is a fun way to raise some extra money for the United Way. The event allows you to compete individually or challenge a co-worker or friend for bragging rights.
When is the event?
November 2nd. 2017 from 4-8pm in the Pavilion
What are the different games?
There are 3 different games that people can play.
Around the World: 4-5pm
There are 5 different locations on the floor you can shoot from. The number on the floor equals the points you earn from hitting the shot. If you are a great 3-point shooter, that shot is 5 points for every one you sink.
You must rebound for yourself
There is a 1 minute time frame to shoot and score as many points as possible
The Money Ball: 5-6pm
Each contestant will shoot from 3 racks of balls containing 4 orange balls and 1 multi-colored ball.
Contestants have 1 minute to shoot all 15 balls
Orange balls are worth 1 point and multi-colored balls are worth 2 points
Free Throw Contest: 6-7pm
Each contestant will shoot as many free throws as possible for 1 minute
Scoring is 1 point per made shot
Contestants will rebound for themselves
Main Event: Join us from 7-8pm and watch our community leaders take each other on and rekindle old rivalries. This includes Cassie and Amanda challenging each other to a rematch from their high school days.
How much does it cost?
The cost is $10 per person for every event you participate it. Examples: Jim challenges Joe to Around the World and the Free Throw contest. Each player would pay $20-$10 per event.Sally wants to win the Money Ball contest. She signs up to play 3 times. The cost is $30-$10 per game played.
How do I sign up?
There are 3 ways to sign up. Call 620-665-2026 and talk to Carissa to guarantee your spot. Swing by administration at HRMC and sign up and pay Carissa in person

Do I have to pay before I can play?
Yes, you must pay before you will be allowed in the competition.
Do I have to challenge someone?
No, players can enter the competition individually and we will crown an individual grand champion for each of the events.
What do I get if I win?
Challenge your friend or foe and win a certificate announcing that you have bragging rights that you can display for all to see. Individuals will also receive a certificate showing that they were the champion for that event.
Can I still come watch even if I don’t play?
We would love to have people come and watch the event. We will have a jar available for donations if anyone wants to contribute.
