Emma Cott- LCMFT
Emma received her Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in Family Studies and Human Services. She then obtained a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy degree from Friends University in Wichita, Ks. Emma is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist with additional training in hypnotherapy.
Emma has worked with individuals, couples, and families with a variety of mental health diagnoses, phase of life problems, grief, and other issues. She also has a heavy focus in the area of crisis intervention and suicide prevention.
Kathy Miller- LMSW
Kathy is a Licensed Master’s Level Social Worker. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree at Fort Hays State University in 1997 and Master of Social Work degree in 1998 at the University of Kansas. Her practicum experience was completed at the Iroquois Center for Human Development in Greensburg, Kansas where she provided outpatient therapy services. Kathy served on the Board of Directors of the Kansas National Association of Social Workers for two years.
Kathy has been employed at Horizons Mental Health Center as a therapist since 2011. She currently provides services in the Pratt and Medicine Lodge offices. She has been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment, and Critical Incident Stress Management. Kathy is trained and experienced in working with adults and adolescents in individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as facilitating therapy groups.
Robert J. Pierce – LCPC
Robert received his Bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in education then went on to Kansas State University to earn a Master’s degree in Counseling. He worked in public education for 36 years in Kansas and Texas with a wide array of experiences from coaching multiple sports to teaching in the classroom and counseling students. Robert finished his clinical studies at Kansas State University. Most of his experience has been working with school age children, parents, and staff in the pre-k through high school setting. His interest and desire is to continue providing therapeutic services to diverse populations and ages with mental health concerns. “I enjoy helping people succeed and lead a healthier and more fulfilling life.”
Shiela Kough- LMSW
Shiela received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Family Counseling in 1999 from Barclay College. She then worked as a case manager with adults with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and children with Severe Emotional Disturbance for two years, before going on to graduate school in 2001. In 2003 she graduated from KU School of Social Welfare with a Masters in Clinical Social Work. During her clinical practicum she worked in community mental health, and continues to work with a wide variety of client ages, diagnoses, and issues, with a focus in adults with SPMI and children with SED. She is experienced in providing individual, family, and group therapy. In 2014 she completed training to provide Critical Incident Stress Management services.
Terri Liggett- LMSW
Terri is a Graduate from Wichita State University in Wichita KS, with a Master’s degree in Social Work. She also attended Fort Hays State University in Hays KS, where she received her Bachelor of Social Work. Terri is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker in the State of Kansas. During her Master’s program she became a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society. During her clinical practicum, she provided short term therapeutic treatment to a variety of clients and ages experiencing a wide range of mental health, substance abuse, and poverty concerns by providing skills training, empowering adults and youth to advocate for themselves, and resource identification. Terri is knowledgeable of the foster care system and in working with youth, adults, DCF, and the courts within this system. She has practice in providing therapeutic services to diverse populations, ages and mental health concerns.
Angela Baker- LSCSW
Angela attended Wichita State University in Wichita, KS, where she received her Bachelor of Liberal Arts & Sciences with a major in psychology in 1997. She then worked as a case manager assisting children with Severe Emotional Disturbance and their families until going to graduate school in 2001. In 2003 she graduated from Newman University in Wichita, KS with a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work. In her graduate program she graduated with honors and was invited into the Phi Alpha Honor Society. During her clinical practicum she worked as a School Social Work Intern at a behavioral school and as Hospital Social Work Intern at a Senior Behavioral Health Unit. Angela then began working in community mental health and obtained her Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker licensure in the state of Kansas in 2010.
Over the past 17 years, Angela has had employment and volunteer experiences in the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, PTSD, communication problems, Severe Emotional Disturbances, Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, parenting issues, family issues and stress. She works with individuals, couples, families and groups. In 2011 she completed training and was certified in the Kansas TF-CBT Learning Collaborative. She is also EAGALA certified for Equine Assisted Psycho-therapy. Angela has been a clinical supervisor for three individuals working to obtain their clinical licensure and has supervised a practicum student working on their master’s degree. She has been the mental health consultant to Early Head Start in Harper County for the last three years.
Sara Lewton- LMLP
Sara is a graduate from Fort Hays State University in Hays KS, with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Sara is licensed with the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board with the state of Kansas as a Licensed Master Level Psychologist. Sara has been employed at Horizons Mental Health Center since 2004 providing therapeutic service. She has experience working with children, adults, and families. Recently, Sara began working as the Program Director for Community Services for Pratt County, Barber County, Kingman County, and Harper County.
