Two open houses have been set for October in observance of the 50th anniversary of Horizons Mental Health Center.
The public is invited to an open house scheduled for 4 p.m.-6 p.m., Thursday October 4 at Horizons’ Pratt office at 602 East Second Street. A second open house is slated for 5 p.m.-7 p.m., Thursday October 11 at the Hutchinson office of Horizons in the Trade Center at 1600 North Lorraine Street.
No RSVP is required and refreshments will be served at both events.
Horizons Mental Health Center was established in 1968 as the Kingman-Reno County Mental Health Center. Services were expanded to Pratt in 1971, Anthony in 1973 and Medicine Lodge in 1975.
In 2017, approximately 7,000 clients were treated at the five locations which make up Horizons Mental Health Center which amounts to nearly 120,000 hours of services. An organization that started with a single employee today operates with a staff of nearly 200.
Horizons Mental Health Center is an entity of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System. Other entities are Health-E-Quip, Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and Hutchinson Regional Medical Foundation.
