The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center (HRMC) has been granted a three year certification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), a national accrediting agency headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
In a statement announcing the certification, AACVPR said the special accreditation was granted to HRMC in recognition for its commitment to improving the quality of life by enhancing standards of care.
Aubrey Nuss, Director of the Heart and Vascular Center at HRMC, said the certification was the successful result of a rigorous application process that required extensive documentation of the program’s practices and successful treatments.
Nuss said the HRMC Pulmonary Rehab program is designed to speed recovery of heart and pulmonary patients through education, exercise, counseling and support from family and friends.
Ken Johnson, President and CEO of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System (HRHS), said certifications at all levels are a matter of highest priority and don’t just magically happen.
“It is especially gratifying that AACVPR, a national leader in certifying healthcare facilities, has recognized the HRMC Pulmonary Rehabilitation program for their outstanding efforts in treating our patients,” Johnson said. “A central theme to the AACVPR mission is improvement in quality of life for patients and their families, which is synonymous with our goals at HRMC.”
Entities within HRHS are Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, Health-E-Quip, Horizons Mental Health Center and Hutchinson Regional Medical Foundation.
