Medical Records

Accessing Your Health History

Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System provides patients with access to their medical records, according to and protected by federal HIPAA regulations.

Records requests can be submitted by patients over the age of 18, or by a parent/legal guardian of a minor.

Release of Medical Records

Once a request is received, requests may require up to 30 days to process, and a valid ID may be required.

Behavioral health records, by state law, require physician approval prior to release; allow an additional 3-4 business days for these requests to be processed.

If records are needed for treatment or for an appointment within the next 48-72 hours, physicians can request records by fax when you arrive in his/her office for treatment.

Records can be faxed to the physician’s office at no charge to the patient.
