Award Winning Resources for Kids

Our unique and award-winning Kid’s Kit was carefully created to help bereaved young children understand and accept terminal illness and death. Each kit includes two children’s books, crayons, a teddy bear, and a parenting pamphlet. 

The “Love is for Always” books, written by Terri Smith and illustrated by local artist, Teresa Lyon, teach children about grief and encourage them to share their grief with others.  

Developed by our agency in the early 1990s, the Kid’s Kit received the National Hospice Organization (NHO) Award of Excellence in 1993.  

Kid’s Kits are available for purchase (minimum order: 10), and are recommended for school counselors, pastors, and organizations who work with young children.
