The Forensic Department at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center was established in 2005 and is dedicated to serving victims of violence both in our community and across Kansas. Our trauma-informed Forensic team treats each and every patient with respect, compassion, and sincerity while protecting the patient’s safety, dignity, and victim rights.

The Forensic Department is available 24/7 to assist and provide specialty care services to victims of all ages who have experienced:

  • Sexual Assault
  • Physical Assault
  • Domestic/Inmate Partner
  • Violence
  • Child Abuse or Neglect
  • Older Adult Abuse
  • Human Trafficing
  • Strangulation

Our Forensic staff works hand-in-hand with the hospital system to ensure that every patient who needs help receives it. We collaborate with our community partners to increase the number of services available to victims of violence both in Reno County and the surrounding communities.

Since 2022, our Forensic Department has empowered over 300 survivors of violence by providing patient-focused treatment, evidence collection, connection to resources, and assistance navigating medical and court systems. Our goal is to expand our services to meet the needs of our communities. Our patients and survivors deserve only the best trauma-informed, patient-centered care available.
