News » Kids Kamp 2023: Date Announced for Reno County’s Grief Support Event for Children
Grieving the death of a loved one is never easy but Hospice & HomeCare of Reno County offers a “Space to Grieve” Kids Kamp for children 6-17 years of age to provide some coping skills.
This is the agency’s 8th year of hosting Kids Kamp with the Cosmosphere. The one-day event will again be held at the Cosmosphere and will take place June 17th from 9am- 1:30pm.
Any child who has experienced the death of a family member, friend, or other significant person in their life can attend, free of charge, thanks to funding provided by United Way of Reno County as well as local civic clubs and merchants. The day is filled with a combination of activities for children to process their grief alongside peers who share similar experiences. The Cosmosphere instructors also provide interactive activities for participants throughout the day.
“So often children are the forgotten ones in the grief process. The goal of Kids Camp is to provide children with resources on how to process and verbalize their grief. Our trained staff and volunteers provide hands on activities throughout the day to guide attendees on a hopeful and compassionate path.” Cindy Dubovich, Hospice & HomeCare Chaplain.
Slots are limited, please RSVP early for your child to get a t shirt.
